I made a few hunts out there last year and have gone 4 or 5 times since opening day. I can't seem to find the deer. Anyone with experience wants to give some friendly advice? No boat or atv so it kinda limits me but I'm not scared to walk.

I duck hunt out there and have seen some good sign deep in the swamp off 120. A lot of people take piroques and paddle to the ridges, then set up and hunt. Hard work but pays off for a lot of them.

Also, I know a woman who killed a 110-120 8 point about 200 yds off the road. Woke up late and just set down off the main road. 15 minutes later boom.

Sorry if I messed up anyones spot

People I work with have told me don't underestimate being close to noise/roads. Said the deer learn to ignore the traffic, and everyone thinks the farther in the better they'll do so it actually sees more pressure.

I went there several times in '08 and '09, never saw a deer. It's a pretty tough scene over there, but a lot of fun if you bring camping gear and make it a 2 or 3 day trip.

That area will have bird dogs in it starting Dec 18-January 31st. The dogs will move deer around both for the good and bad. Some hunters know this and work it to their advantage. If you hunt there expect it and don't get mad at the dogs "messing up" your hunt...

If you bow hunt, plenty of deer at South farm. dont think you can deer hunt it once duck season starts though.
