Killed my first one this week, third day I’d gone after him. First day he hammered any noise in the woods, second he was completely silent, third day he was lazy in gobbling but closed silent to calling.

That one bird was hot or cold with the weather, and on the second day I could have walked all around him if I didn’t know he was there. Locating a bird is the hard part, but if I can kill one anyone can.

Truth. They are all over the ranch but I have a daughter coming Wednesday. Spring in south Tx is beautiful, but duty calls.

Wichita Falls, TX area. Birds worked well to calls over the last 3 days. Responding and coming in to investigate. Dropped 2 over 3 hunts.

I had 3 come in shoulder to shoulder full strut. Never could get one alone out of full strut. Had a full strut decoy out. I guess I should have whistled at them or something to break it up. Never tried that before.

No it was 6 pm. I just sat in tent for an hour or so watching hens and he came up and walked in front of me maybe 30 feet away or closer. The only issue was getting red dot on him that close. He saw the movement stuck his head up I stopped froze and then he heard something in the swamp and looked away for the two seconds I needed to lock in on him

People that use tents for Turkey hunting are the same people that use the Rascals at Walmart. Beep beep beep.

I prefer everything natural. Tents are for bow hunters.

Btw...selling my Dave Smith Full Strutter with Rio Fan. It’s unfair. Wind certified to 32 mph. $150

Talking about a man using a tent, and gets on here to sell a decoy with a rio fan. Just as soon go to a local farm and whack 2 tame birds instead of pounding chest over killing 2 Rios in 3 hunts. Hell buddies didn’t carry guns first day just to extend hunt. Had 4 the next morning.

Had a decent year so far. No trouble getting my limit all on public land in SW MS. Killed them all with in maybe 2 miles of each other. Of course there are other hunters out, but no more than usual.
