It's coming from the sky

Roots cover basically all of the area available to dig and where I could put a drain pipe. I've got a couple of buddies and a sister that are landscape architects, but I'd trust my assessment over theirs. They'd draw up plans for me to bury a 10" pump if I let them Probably gonna rent a mini-excavator and dig the shite up. I'm done fricking around with shovels and an axe

What about a French drain running next to the side walk ? You can rent a small trench digger at Home Depot, gravel, PVC with holes and some beer.

Fine. Take that tone.

What I'm thinking is you can lay the drain on the surface and cover it up with landscaping effects - give the water a bypass route across the property - or at least to where you don't mind it. Heck, that's got to be better than pumping or looking at it.

Well, I found yet another gas line coming in today. I was whacking away at roots and smacked something metal really hard with the axe. That makes three gas lines and two water lines coming to my house from the street. I am hoping that's all there is. Never in my life have I seen so many utilities running to one house, and I did irrigation for about 2 years when I was younger.

Gonna put a holy basin in the ground for the sidewalk since the water table is about 32" down. Will be using a 3" PVC shower drain to sch 40 1.5" pipe to a big irrigation box filled with limestone.

The patio is gonna be some type of grate to PVC draining into the neighbor's yard. Drainage grate is like $50 per 3ft section, so I'm gonna have to come up with a better idea that costs less

Eta: Found another water line

You didn't call before you dug?

811 wont find untraced water lines*

*If you catch some utility companies while they are looking for their lines, you can talk them into identifying unknowns. They can turn up sensitivity and look for voids in sewer line and such. However they can only usually find traced or metal wires/lines.

When I did mine, 811 services couldnt locate a sewer and water lines in the area. I hand dug my first 2' and then excavated the remainder.
