Any fish around Bay St Louis this time of year?

In laws are wanting us to come to their camp for the holidays. Does the actual bay in bay St. Louis have any worthy fishing this time of year without having to run to Biloxi marsh?

Shore Thing Charters makes a good living fishing the bridges this time of year. The fish are definitely in the Bay on both the road bridge and RR bridge pilings. Reds and puppy drum mostly. The colder, the better.

Ok cool I may give that a shot. I plan on trailering to lake borgne but was hoping there was something close like that. Their neighborhood has a boat launch into bay St. Louis

Watch the tides this time of year, can get really low depending on the wind (like today).
Some guys troll rattle traps in the shipping channels for trout, but i've never done.
Bridges are good bet for drum and redfish, as earlier poster mentioned.

Yeah, as mentioned above, the bridges are the best spot this time of year. You can also wear out the sheepshead on the bridges in the winter.

This is a good point. Be especially careful on the far East side, south of the car bridge. There's a big iron rod that gets exposed at extreme low tides and it could really do some damage.

Bridges for sheeps/drum/occl red
Jourdan river for big trout- troll or fish the opening to Gar lake (~ 1/2 mile south of I10 on the west side)

The folks trolling have been catching some nice ones

They catch trout north of I-10 regularly. Flats adjacent to deep bends or in the deep bends if its cold as hell.

Biggest trout I ever caught was in the Jourdan River trolling about 5 years ago. 24" stud on a Deadly Dudley trolled slowly. It was waaaaaay north of I-10.

The laughing about big trout in the Jordan River has zero clue.
There are deep holes you can fish that have big trout this time of year. As others suggested, trolling the river slow with rattle trouts are swim baits will yield really nice trout. Whenever there is a hard freeze there, it is not uncommon to see dead trout floating in that river over 6 lbs.

Yep. I'm in a Mississippi Coast fishing group on Facebook and the folks who know what they are doing have been catching big trout.
I've never trolled the Jourdan River, I usually don't fish unless it's calm enough to run to the Biloxi Marsh. That being said, I may try it soon on a rough day. Worst comes to worst I've ran the boat and drank some beer

Same can be said for the Wolf and it's bayous as well. Some pigs come out of those holes every year.

I’d be scared to death to drink beer and run the boat on the Jourdan. The boat is at Bay Marina and I usually only fish the Biloxi marsh and I bet I’ve been checked by the authorities 4x the last 3 years on the Jourdan/Bay. And I only fish weekends.

weird, our camp/boat lift is off a canal you take to get to Bay Marina and I've only been stopped one time while fishing and that was fishing the Jourdan on a Tuesday after work.
I've been stopped multiple times while running north to the sandbars with a boat full of beer and as long as the operator (myself) isn't shitfaced they generally just check for safety equipment and let us roll.
How often are you at Bay Marina? I think I kept them in business this summer when we were on the fish

I get stopped around the Bay all the time, but they never even question the beer. Of course, I'm operating and not drinking enough for it to matter.
