A friend of mine called me and asked me to make him
one. I am more of a cane pole and creek bank fisherman so I haven't really paid that much attention to them when I saw them in a store. This is my attempt at making one. Its 1/16 stainless tig wire. Any suggestions on what you might change and would you be ashamed to charge him $20 for it?

If my friend asked me to build/do something for them I wouldn't charge them anything for it except my cost if it was substantial enough. In this case, I would definitely not charge him, but that's just me.

I really couldn't see myself charging someone for something like that. Now if a lot of people started asking about it I would maybe have to think about a little compensation for time spent.

if you were my friend and tried to charge me $20 for that I would say no thanks and buy the real one for $25

I should have clarified that the word friend was used real loosely. He has had me build alot of things for him and it is more of a business relationship. He has done stuff for me and charged me fairly and I just want to make sure I do the same.

Tell him $25 and maybe h won't ask you to make something like that again.

Eta- but if you need to keep his business make him a present of it and he will continue to use your services.

Our relationship is he has a backhoe and if a cow of mine dies he buries it for 80$. I do odd welding stuff for him. My real question is, is this an acceptable replica cause I really have no idea

I have no idea.

If it weighs about the same I say it is good.

I don't know much about it, but I'd think the wire should be thinner.

Where they all come together, maybe paint it like a jig head with an eye or something on it.

Other than that, it looks pretty good. If he was a good friend I wouldn't charge him. If he isn't a good friend I wouldn't have made it for him unless I really enjoy doing stuff like that. Or I would have let him know that I was gonna charge him if I made it.

I have no idea. It looks good to me. I've never used one. Looks like they'd be great for trolling the causeway with for specs.
