You have to relearn everything . Depth perception? Becomes a guessing game. Blind spots? Quadrupled. You bump into things, turn in to people, and let me tell you, a dead eye lolling around in your head is great for symmetry.

Agree with all of this fr33!

I lost vision in my left eye 23 yrs ago due to a blunt force injury from a bungee cord I was pulling towards me. I am 43 now. Most days present a challenge at some point. I miss people regularly, bump in to things, still struggle with depth occasionally. It’s frustrating and makes me anxious in large crowds.

I still have my injured left eye (severed optic nerve and retina damage) and it has been slowly shrinking size. Most people don’t notice unless they are close, but it sounds like I will eventually have to remove and get a prosthetic. I’ve had a couple of aesthetic corrective surgeries since my injury to realign and stretch pupil.

My Opthamologist has consistently told me to keep my injured eye as long as possible. He has said that a prosthetic will not track as well as my current. So staying the course and praying for the best.

FWIW, my life has been infinitely better since my injury at 20 yrs old. I was really “blind” to the world and to others around me prior to losing my vision. I have a completely different perspective of the blessings around me now. Life is really good.

Great buck! Nice job. Any idea what it weighed? Looks like big body.
I was in the same boat a few years ago and had 1500sf worth of broken driveway that had to be busted, hauled off and replaced due to tree roots.
The price was around $9/sf turn key at that time and they were in and out in four days with a small crew. No issues during the project or with our drive since.
I received this contact from a mutual friend who is a landscape architect in Baton Rouge and had worked with him for many years. Anderson # 225-279-4959.
Incredible as always! Thank you for sharing your gift.

re: Cinque Terre

We were in Cinque Terre last April, it is an incredible area. We spent a few nights in Vernazza and then visited Monterosso for a day before our journey continued in northern Italy. We think about go back to Vernazza again almost daily.

We used the Omio & Trenitalia apps exclusively to purchase our train tickets. Both apps were straightforward and easy to purchase tickets. Schedules and platforms to board were always accurate.

As far as food, our favorites were:
1) Ristorante La Torre (Vernazza). Worth the short climb up for the most incredible views of the sea and overlooks the village below. Prices were fair, service was good, food and drinks were both great. You need to get reservations and make sure you are there for a sunset.

2) II Pirata del 5 Terre (Vernazza). This is a small breakfast and lunch bistro with limited seating. Super friendly owners, all their pastry & food was homemade and excellent. My wife and I went back for their pesto pasta and seafood pasta dishes. The seafood pasta varies slightly day to day based on the fresh catch and my mouth is watering thinking about it.

Have a great trip!

Paco’s Rapid Relief Plumbing. 225-276-9437.

Top notch service and pricing. I’ve used him twice after an initial recommendation from the H&G board. He can do everything plumbing/sewer.
I cannot answer for Rome, but we stayed in this place in Florence this April. No complaints, clean, comfortable, quiet and in a great location to everything that we wanted to see and do.

I second and also recommend Paco. He has done great work at my residence & was a lead from this board. I wish I had found him sooner.

Interested. How can I contact you?
I purchased an 82 CJ5 as a project a couple of years ago. It has the 4.2L AMC 258 inline 6 with T176 transmission. Great engine.

It has been a lot of fun and easy to work on. Very rewarding project. No special skills or tools needed. As others have said, lots of info on YouTube and forums. Parts are easily sourced as well.

In my garage and over the weekends, I’ve installed a new distributor, entire fuel system including tank, lines, pump and filters and a copper core radiator. New mufflers and exhaust installed by Mr Muffler in Baton Rouge. New coat of paint by Fact-O-Bake (you pay for what you get). Minor rewiring and electrical work behind the dash. I rebuilt a Motorcraft 2150 (1.08 venturi) carb and it starts and runs like new and is reliable.

Insurance is cheap through Hagerty. It’s been a fun vehicle to run errands around town and take the wife on a date.

Paco’s Rapid Relief completed the job. He’s a good guy and will use him for everything plumbing moving forward. Cannot recommend enough.

He communicated great and showed up when he said he would. He worked 12 straight hours, hand dug a 60 ft long 4 ft deep trench, replaced my sanitary line & added a cleanout, backfilled and cleaned up like he was never there.
Highly recommend, not to mention he was a couple thousand less than another quote. Go with Paco

Thanks for the recommendation. I called Paco and he is coming by next week to take a look.

I am fortunate. We have a decent sloped grade from back to front of the lot and my house is slightly elevated on piers. The line continuing under my home can be see in the crawlspace. No leaks or sinkholes there.

Thanks again!

Sanitary sewer line repair

Posted by Stevo1 on 5/8/24 at 7:39 am
After noticing several sink holes developing in my backyard, the city ran a smoke test and confirmed I have four leaks coming from our sanitary sewer line. Unfortunately, it is out of their servitude regarding repairs. Length is approx. 50ft. in my backyard.

Does anyone have recommendations for residential plumber in Baton Rouge that can complete this type of sanitary line repair work and backfilling? Thanks in advance!

We would love to adopt her. We live in Baton Rouge and currently have a 9.5 yr old yellow lab at home. Spoiled that gets exercised daily. Been looking for a friend for him. Let me know. Thanks

lookin on the site i see a 4000watt open frame inverter for 393.....frick i dont need one but i might get it.

I just purchased that one yesterday…too good of a deal to pass up. I should be able to run my freezer, fridge, window unit and a couple box fans at the same time without issue.

Hey guys, I have to go to Port Fouchon to do some hurricane related work. Where is the closest place that has electricity and/or gas?

I was down in Fourchon yesterday. Your best bet for fuel and electricity is in Boutte. Everywhere South of that either has no power or lines for gas are over a mile long all day.
