Alterations on a Gore-Tex Jacket

I bought the Sitka Jetstream Jacket for an upcoming Elk hunt. I went with the XL Tall. The fit is great throughout the shoulders and where it sits on my hips. Only issue is the sleeves are about an inch too long. I contacted Sitka and they recommend using a Gore Certified clothier in Seattle, RAINY PASS REPAIR. This makes sense obviously if you are repairing a tear or something but taking an inch in on the sleeves seems like something any reputable alteration place could do.
Anyone have experience with this?
There are no pull strings or anything at the end of the sleeves, it's just rolled over and sewed

Did they say anything about a warranty void if you didn't use rainy pass repair?

This is all they say

ALTERATIONS AND REPAIRS
Can I alter my GORE-TEX® garment or embroider a logo on it?
Any form of alteration to your GORE-TEX® garment after purchase, including repairs, logo embroidery, or fit alterations, should be done at a Gore-certified facility. Otherwise, you might compromise the waterproof protection of your garment, usually via small needle holes that have not been sealed. If you need to change your garment in any way, contact us to locate a certified repair facility.
I've damaged my GORE-TEX® garment. What can I do?
You can temporarily fix minor punctures and tears with a GORE -TEX® Fabric Repair Kit, available at specialty outdoor stores. These special adhesive patches allow you to make instant repairs to preserve the waterproof integrity of your outerwear until you can get to a certified repair center. Contact us for information about contacting a repair center.

I'd probably just send it to who they recommended. I'd hate to have a leaky jacket, especially at your wrists/hands.
I'm sure there are more places that can do it, maybe search around some of the bigger military bases for a tailor. They've probably done it all when it comes to modifying clothing/gear.

I sent Rainy Pass a message to get their opinion

Hi, I have a Sitka Jetstream jacket that I just purchased. The fit is great everywhere except for the length of the sleeves. I need to shorten it by 1-1.5". How much would this cost and what would be your estimated turn around? Also, I live in Mandeville, LA. Do you recommend sending it out to Seattle for this or is this something I could have done locally?

I have never had jacket sleeves fit me. I have zero expectations that it will ever happen.

The sleeves on this jacket fall between the base of my thumb and knuckles. For a top quality jacket and to be using it for Archery, I just want that fixed

Roll it up?
The trick is to use the good glue on the new seam, then sew it, then you either tape the seam from the back (cheap way) or cut a strip of goretex and glue the strip on the inside of seam to ensure the stitching is waterproof, possibly glue fabric on exterior as well.

Hello,
We can shorten your sleeves, we charge $83 per hour and I'm guessing this job will take 1 to 1.5 hours of labor. Since it is not a completely waterproof fabric (I believe the Jetstream is a water resistant/windproof soft shell material) you might be able to get someone local to do it. If you do decide to send it in, we are at about 3 to 4 weeks turnaround for alterations. You can download the Repair Form from our website, rainypass.com and use that to send it in. Thanks!
I'll check the local folks
Someone will be able to do this

I will not pay someone with a sewing machine, $83 an hour
I have a damn engineering degree and could only dream on being paid at that rate

Like I said buy the good waterproof glue and have them tape the seam before they stitch it.
