1. I like the ecoboost
2. It's actually alot more convenient than trying to use my iphone and hoping at&t will give me service.
3. Included in all the ones I've looked at.

Not buying a 4wd. See pages 1&2

I was joking about something that was said the other day. I'm sure most of the parts in a ford are from china. I'm just definitely getting a f-150.

looking at 5.0 vs eco price is extra $1095 for the eco and the 5.0 has a extra $500 in rebate,

thats a $1595 swing.

Navigation is definitely worthwhile IMO. The touchscreen in a truck is obviously easier to see and use than a phone screen and the traffic updates are far superior to what my iPhone does. I don't know about Ford pricing, but adding the touchscreen nav isn't really that expensive in a Toyota if you are already going to opt for the premium audio system.

My bad. Carry on.

I'm about 99.9% sure I saw you at Autozone about an hour ago.

I have nothing else to contribute to this thread.

Ford's are cool?

If you saw a dude buying freon, that was definitely me

ETA: And a new line and gauge, because I didn't realize the one on that can I bought yesterday was actually a regular line and gauge attached to a regular can of freon. I now have two lines and gauges

I just saw your truck when I pulled in. I think you were about to leave. I was just picking up supplies for an oil change...ended up talking to that black dude for like 20 minutes. He has a 1969(?) Camaro with a Dart small block he's trying to sell for $20k

I have the navigation. I love it. As far as gps, it's much better than my iPhone. The traffic updates is great. The screen is large and very clear. The sync works great with iPhones and finding music is simple. Not as big of a deal, but I can control all climate controls through it too.

One thing I did forget to say in all of my praise of my 6.2 was one negative. It has a traditional power steering. The 5.0 and 3.5 have electric power steering which is incredible. It's effortless to turn the wheel even while in park. Not that the regular power steering is bad, just the new electronic is much better.

As someone said, the Ecoboost is a $1,500 upgrade. That will purchase a lot of fuel and a long time to equal out the +1 mpg the Ecoboost gets. Plus if you want to modify the truck performance wise, I wouldn't even think about the Ecoboost.

They run in the 13s with just an intake, a tune, and a muffler swap.

Problem is no one really knows how durable the Ecoboosts are before, during, and after mods. So it's kind of risky to mess with them.

That's the exact problem. I can make my SuperCrew run 10s but it better be one hell of a run cuz she blown up after that.

Plus you can get the 5.0 in a reg cab/ short bed. That could be fun.

But back to the Ecoboost, some dealerships will overlook a tune, exhaust, and CAI on the 5.0. On the 3.5 Ford has told their service managers that ANYTHING aftermarket and bye bye warranty. There are many people on online forums that have been denied warranty work for the aforementioned mods.

How are they with the 6.2? I was looking into getting a tuner and exhaust but don't want to void my warranty. I'm sure the exhaust is ok but not sure about the tuner.

Exhaust is definitely okay. Tuner just depends on how strict the dealership is. I would think you could put a tuner on it and should something go wrong, just put it back to stock.

BTW, you're the guy who's wife is a rep for my mom's store, right?? I always forget. If so, my mom told me her and your wife were talking about us and Tigerdroppings not long ago . And I also know what your wife reps now...she got on-board with a good company. They sell the ever living crap out of that stuff.

I honestly don't know. I only have a level, larger tires, and muffler swap right now. I took it in for a computer flash and they didn't say anything at all. Granted, they shouldn't have either with those mods.

I plan on waiting to about 30k before I do headers, cat delete, not sure on muffler exhaust. I will also be getting a tuner and CAI at the same time. It'll be short of my 60k mile power train warranty but it should be okay.

If you are looking for a CAI and tuner, Mike at 5 star is the way to go. I have heard of many people running his tunes and CAIs with amazing results. Definetly worth a look.
**Disclaimer** I am not Mike and in do not work for 5 Star.
