What I mean is if both will serve me well I might as well maximize mileage.

What dealerships should I check out in the BR area? I'm planning on Rob. Bros. but anywhere else worth it?

My dad just got rid of his '11 Platinum F150 with the 5.0. It seemed to average around 15-16mpg. But it was a 4x4, leveled with 20's and 33's on it. Platinum > King Ranch > Lariat

ETA: Courtesy Ford in Breaux Bridge is doing $12,000 off sticker, $13,000 off is you finance through Ford or some shite like that.

The cooled seats are awesome... don't go without them. I have the 6.2.. fun to drive, not fun to fill up.

Yea I got a 36 gallon tank on my Ecoboost. Def a lot for a gas. I think my F250 only had a 26... Def like the MPG I'm getting.

I bought a 2012 Eco-Boost 4X4 upgraded Lariat middle of December 2011. Sticker was around 52K. I ended up paying 41.5K plus TTL (X-plan) Leather (heated and cooled), Nav, Sunroof, Etc. Everything the platinum has expect the auto nerf bars (I could see these being a problem.) and the ugly arse tailgate.

Friend I work with has a 2010 GMC 4X4 Sierra with a bout 50K miles. I drove it a few days ago and I couldn't believe what a POS that thing is. The ride was terrible, interior looks cheap, and it rattled like a 10 yr old vehicle.

Get the Ford!!!

This... I owned a 07 new GMC 2wd and it drives like a covered wagon compared to my ecoboost which 4wd. Only thing I think GM has going for them is the A/C. I think it blows colder.

FWI: Ecoboost and 5.0 "real world" mileage is the same. Eco a little better on hwy and 5.0 in town.

As the trucks break in the mileage is different. I have buddy's that have both. Same year same lift just different tires one has BFs n the other has SSTs. The ecoboost get 3mpg. They have the same gears too. And they work at the same place and drive pretty much the same except the ecoboost guy probably gets on his a little more.

I went and drove the lariat ecoboost yesterday. All I can say is WOW. Problem I'm faced with now is 5.0 vs. Ecoboost. They had a 5.0 with everything I wanted but I'm still leaning towards the eco for the performance factor. Opinions?

If u gonna leave it stock go with the 5.0 if you plan on tweaking it down the road then the ecoboost would be my choice. Get ready to hear the warranty voiders if ya mention adding things to your ecoboost. Either way good luck to ya. I don't regret buying a Ford. Never thought I'd say that...

I would go 5.0...just because I wouldn't want the added worry of turbo's. Turbos are expensive to replace. And since this is fords first crack at Turbo's in a gas truck I would make sure all the bugs were worked out before I bought it.

Sticker was around $45 on the one I previously mentioned, but they came way off with me simply asking for a starting price.

If I were buying new right now, I'd probably go with the Ecoboost over the 5.0. I don't tow much and truck stays parked most of the time.

I would get the 5.0 for modding and the 3.5 if you want to leave it stock. They make close power in stock form. Add a turbo and exhaust on the 5.0 and embarrass the 3.5. The 3.5 is almost topped on power. Most big companies are replacing turbos for extra power on the 3.5. Also, the 5.0 is $750 cheaper so that's your exhaust system right there.
