It' to keep muzzle flip down. Notice the angle and the direction the gas would come out

bought it online through a friends FFL at Atlantic Firearms few years ago
was right at 600 at the time

That's sort of what I was coming here to post. I was going to say someone had a very good looking AK with dark wood that was posted in an AK thread I started. I think the pic you posted there also has a Glock on a backpack as well.

Buy a saiga sporter, convert it and then you have a russian built ak for under $500 that is pretty high quality.

small bug out. Mostly just things I use when in the woods. I keep esientials in it and keep it in the vehicle.

What's the best way to convert it? Is that better than getting the fitted 30 rd mags?
