Looks like the boys are starting to move in Kansas. Not sure I will be able to sleep much between now and next Tuesday morning.

Seems like those deer would get tired of eating corn all the time

What opens in 8 days, rifle season is latter correct? I am heading that way next weekend for the opening of the pheasant season. I will be in the SW corner of the state for the first time. Normally we hunt the NW corner or North Central, trying to move a little this year and get away from some of the pressure.

Do what you want if you see it but I think most here agree that he needs another year.

I guess so too. I will take care of the rest then.

If you look the distance between his knees and also the thickness of his tail you can tell that he is 3 years and 7 months old, but not 9 months....Unless he is in northwestern Kansas. Because if he is in northwestern Kansas he is 3 years and five months old due to the early rut of 2015 which was caused by the temperature of that particular area being 4 degrees warmer than the 50 year average.

How was that?

Sounds good to me. I’ll be there in November so that’ll make him 3 years 8 months. I draw the line at shooting anything less than that.

If he walks out in front of me within 30 yards, I’m gonna sling a 100gr G5 Striker at him.

Thanks for the info, I wasn’t sure if he was old enough but, you help clear it up for me.

How tough is it to get a public land NR buck tag in Kansas and when do you apply?

This is my first year to put in and I was drawn. We have some private land but, also have a good bit of public land if we need it. I believe we put in either in March or April.

Some friends of mine found a old farmer and leased the hunting rights on his farm (Kansas) they go every year around Nov 5th and have both killed 160" + in the last 3 years. Bow only

One was 178"

Makes me sick and jealous
