In my opinion, the GEO Tracker is the most capable, best value used 4wd vehicle at the lowest price if you find one in decent shape. Upgrade one with a lift kit, snorkel system, off road tires and better suspension and go places that a lot of other off road vehicles simply cant go.

Almost all year models, maybe all year models in 4WD, can also be flat towed by putting them in neutral. Thats a BIG deal. They weigh about 2500 pounds and could easily be flat towed without any sort of brake (Arkansas is, to my knowledge, the only state which would allow it however). Even with a brake requirement it is a cheap set up that can be easily disconnected when not in use. They are great little toads. They ain't cheap though LOL. I suspect most, unless they have been destroyed or have 300K on them, are worth as much or more at 30 years old as they were new.

I was told the transfer cases don't have a true neutral, so you were supposed to disconnect the driveshaft or something for flat towing (for the samurais, anyway). I have a Mule Pro-MX I use for hunting in MS, and it's a fine riding machine. I use my samurai around town all the time, but it sure doesn't ride as good as the Mule.

Just curious if you shopped around. I got a 2024 Mule Pro MX from the Bastrop dealer for $3k less than House of Cycles quoted me.

Not really. I checked McKinneys in Ruston and they were $2k higher than House of Cycles. They did knock $500 off plus I got the veteran discount.

That is a fine looking machine!

I would bet that later models may not have a true xfer case neutral but the mid 90s models could be flat towed by putting the xfer case in neutral and the transmission in neutral and the key on in the accessory position. If its a manual transmission it would be in the highest gear with the xfer case in neutral. Those models which can be flat towed without anything else are HIGHLY desirable.....the are the perfect toad for a couple or even a family of four and even small class B and Cs with gas engines can tow one without any issue...Jeeps can be towed in the same manner but they are surprisingly heavy.

For those that have the Mule Pro MX, how do you like it?

I'm about to move to a house with about 11 acres, so I was looking at buying a SxS for general land work and for our hunting camp in SW MS. Probably won't need it to go through any "deep" water.

The Mule Pro MX and the regular Mule seem like good options for me at their price points.

Mules are extremely dependable. I’ve had two. Very little downtime compared to its competitors.

You seem like a Pioneer 700 fan. Tell me: if I use one in the hills of SW MS, am I gonna miss the lack of a low range?

Good point and I thought the same thing when I got it.

I don't miss the low range and hunt in some of the steepest terrain in SWMS.
