Used to have 5, but got rid of the whole collection when I moved a couple years ago. Had a green tree python, Brazilian rainbow boa, and some carpet pythons.

After we got the corn & garter, found a still wet shedding from a larger corn, then heard someone had just seen an eastern diamondback, I wanted to stay the night there and hit some of the park’s other trails in the morning. The kid was anxious to get on the road to Gainesville though. If I go back, I’m heading straight to St. Marks for a couple days then straight to the Everglades from there.

did you find/see any of the invasives in FL? pythons/etc?

Only invasives we saw were the hordes of various lizards. Where I saw 3 of the tegus, the woods were lined with cage traps set for them, but not a single trap had any in it. That invasive genie is never going back in the bottle.

Those trails along the pools are phenomenal- gators and hogs, birds, more. Find out when they are doing controlled burns of the levees. Gets messy and smelly for a while.

Nice ones. To me, some off the cooler snake pets are those that you caught. The garter snake with blue coloring... the green ribbon looking ones... even the ringnecks that i imagine are hard to keep.

Yeah the levee we walked was burned along the edge on one side. Saw several gators there, including one that was laying across the levee in front of us. Had to walk around it because it wouldn’t move, but it was very emaciated and sickly looking.

Thanks for the info.

In Louisiana we were mostly hoping for a mud snake.

After years of spotting the occasional mud snake and seeing amphiumas in the tiny ditch after a rain, I had the pleasure of finally getting to see a mud snake eat an amphiuma one night last year or the year before.

Everyone needs a hobby. I'll stick to wood working.

Seriously, I watch a YouTube channel of a guy in Georgia. Pretty interesting. You do a YouTube channel?

Can't believe we have scorpions down here

When I was a youngster running around bare footed here in Rapides Parish we used to see a lot of them. Usually in wood pile, etc. Not so much anymore and it makes me wonder if that is another thing that can be blamed on fire ants?

Had a big speckled king I’d catch every year in the back pasture. Her spots were almost fluorescent. Beautiful snake.
