Blah blah blah - brand loyalty buy what ever you like that suits your needs, in the end that's all that matters anyways.

Well thats not any fun.

In all seriousness, i've owned several Chevy's and Ford's and I liked them all. I would say the Fords were more trucklike, but the Chevy's were more comfortable.

I'm just not a fan of the styling of foreign trucks like the Tacoma.

Currently drive a 2000 Tacoma 4x4 with 365000 miles . Still runs like a charm . Never had any issues with it .

For you recent model Tacoma owners, what are you getting on hwy mpg? I've heard some say that they struggle to get 17.

I've never gotten 17 with my manual. For some reason, outside of they're driven, the manual gets worse mileage than the auto.

2012 Double Cab 4x4 automatic

I get 19-20 with 32" Duratracs and mixed driving.

I was getting 20-21 stock and got around 18 with 32" Trail Grapplers (they were heavy as hell)

People that get shitty mileage are heavy on the skinny pedal. If you don't gun it on take offs and keep it at 2k rpm and below on the interstate it is no problem to get 19-20mpg. I've owned 3 second gen 4x4 autos and never averaged less than 20 when they were stock.

Thats a negative.
I have an '08 Double cab 4x4 with 32" Cooper ATP's.
Stock I got 20-21 hwy, 19 city.
Currently 16-17 city, 18 hwy. With 32's you won't see 20 mpg on the hwy with the V-6 in the Toy.I do agree on the keeping it below 2000 rpm as being a big help, but if you regularly run down the interstate under 2000 rpm then you are not breaking 70mph. I could see MAYBE 19mpg with summer gas. With winter mix, even using a half-n-half mix of premium and non-ethanol I have yet to see 19mpg, city or hwy, with the 32's.

And I'm talking real world mileage, not trip computer BS.

Where are you saying anything different than what I said?

The only tank I've run strictly highway since changing from trail grapplers (72lbs) to Duratracs (44lbs) I got 20.2, so you can get 20 hwy with 32s (255/75/17 which is 32x10.0) That's hand calculated, Tacomas don't have a CPU mileage readout. I'm also running 70 +/- at 2k rpm

None with the Duratracs. The Trail Grapplers were horrible after they had 20k miles on them. I rotated them every 5k miles and went as far as having them road force balanced and nothing helped.
