looks like a heavy boat. Anybody with any experience with them? Dry or wet ride, draft, known bs problems?

They are heavy, especially loaded down. Not sure if the beam on the 21is the same as the 22. I have the 22 and am very happy. Very dry ride and comfortable boat. With the 225 sho, it should hit 50mph easily. I have a 200 on my 224xts and have never got it over 46. It’s rated for the 250 but I was being cheap and got the 200. Biggest regret I have about the whole thing bc i would like to cruise at 40mph with less rpms

Flash it to 250, should hit 60 with the right prop. Yamaha props suck fwiw.
What prop magic?

No idea. I have a pic of it. Don’t know if you can tell from the numbers on it. PT23R17PCL200. Does that help? Sorry to derail OP

May want to check the specs on Nautic Stars website. Pretty sure that’s over the max HP for their 21 footer.

Just checked. It is over. Max HP It is rated for is 200.

Also the 21 footer is light. 22 is where they start getting beefy.

You have 500 rpms left to capture, start testing props. Enertia Eco, Rev 4 should get you where it needs to be.

Pretty sure that only applies to boats less than 20’ according to Coast Guard regulation.

I have a buddy with a Nautic Star Bay Boat that is about that model and it is a GREAT ride...but I think his is about 24 feet long....it fishes BIG...and it has a 300 on it. It hasn't been in the water in probably 8 years....damn shame. He was going to sell it to me one time for $5000....just to be shed of it....I offered him $15....he decided he wanted to keep it.

Commercial hulls, Rec hulls are tagged with max hp. OP, was it Repowered, you original owner, sure it’s not a 22’?
Insurance won’t touch an over powered boat if you have insurance.

I’m not really concerned with top end but it is a direct relation to cruising speed. I’d rather not have a turd I have to run wide open to feel like I’m moving tho, lol More concerned with the quality of the boat, the ride and draft.

I know a lady who husband died and wants to sell it for 25k. It has a fold down rod breaker I could probably sell. No power poles and a hand control trolling motor, not sure about any electronics

I’ve had one bay boat in my life and hated it. This’ll be more of a combo fishing and take the extended fam for rides and tubing, Can’t fit 6 people on my bass boat. I could get it for a little cheaper but I don’t want to insult her with an offer of figure out I’ve got some junk once I buy it

Rooster if you decide to pass on I’d like to know about it. I’ve been looking at comparable boats.

Will do bro. So what you think about the price? I’m fixing to drop a bundle on a place on Belle River and really need another boat like a hole in my head right now

Would like to see condition. There are similar boats I’ve come across but conditions vary so much. I went look at an 08 NS with a 175 the other day but could tell it didn’t get much TLC. They were asking 18k. It’s on FB marketplace near Lake Charles for comparison purposes. For 25k, boat would have to be in super shape with low hours

That’s my issue. Have to run at 5k rpm to do 40mph. Would like to be able to cruise at 4500 rpm at that speed and have enough load carrying ability to carry my big arse.....I know, I should lose weight and have smaller friends.....not happening.

Hard to say without year/hours of package, could be a deal with the sho. Would sell the umbrella to front a pp or other nifty item you really want.
