Ended up going with the 93R17 FV
That's the non stainless bull barrell. Found one Bass Pro within a hundred miles or so in San Antonio that had it for $260.

Put a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 on it and will site it in this weekend or next.

I Shot about 30 rounds through my buddies .17 this weekend.
I AM IN LOVE. I am about to dissect this thread and do some research.

All this talk is making me want one. I've already got a nice .22 Hornet. Are the ballistics between the two that different?

well I don't know much about the .22 hornet besides what i just looked up, twice the weight and around 800 more ft/s than a .17, sounds like better ballistics than the .17 ... but then I looked up the cost of ammo

.17 HMR box of 50 = $13-17
.22 Hornet box of 50 = $50
