What saddle are you guys using? I'm thinking about getting one and practicing with it before next year when I go scouting.

I have a grit workhorse by tethered. Couple of my buddies are using tethered and buzzard roost.
Pretty quick learning curve but I had rock climbed/bouldered and rappelled when I was younger.
For bouncing around and hunting different spots it’s way faster and quieter than a climber with way more tree options. I’m mostly using mine on preset stick locations where I had a loc-on due to it being more comfortable than a loc on for 5hr sits.

Yancey
71°, 12mph S wind
28 noz

Did some midday scouting, found a big rub line by a swamp, moved closer to hang a camera and heard a deer take off through the water. Guessing it was big boy making the rubs, bedded down on a high spot in the swamp.
Sitting the ground this evening, tucked into a lay down, with a slough to the south. There’s a big rub on the edge of the slough in front of me, hopefully I can see what made it.

I use a latitude method 2. This is my third season in it. I’ve logged countless hours in it and have no complaints. I’ve heard good things about buzzard roost too. Whatever you go with, I would definitely recommend it being a 2 panel.
Also, I would take the “buy once, cry once” approach to saddle hunting if you’re planning on being mobile with it. My first year, I had a tethrd phantom saddle, hawk helium sticks, and a tethrd platform. I hated it. Heavy, uncomfortable, and the sticks didn’t bite for shite. Sold everything after that year.
The following year I picked up the tethrd one sticks and a millennium m7, but the lock on just didn’t get me where I knew a saddle would.
Ended up buying my method 2, a 4th tethrd stick, and an arsenal RZR platform. The same setup I use to this day, and love it.

Thanks amigo, that biscuit sure did look amazing! We are truly blessed to have such a healthy and thriving turkey population here. Someone should tell them they aren't allowed to gobble in the Fall. These breasts are going to eat just as well now as in the Spring. But those will be killed the only ethical way, with a blast to the face.

I used the blast to the face method a couple of weeks ago, you know me, it’s taking those annual ethics classes.

I currently have a hawk platform and hawk helium sticks. I want to be more comfortable and be able to carry my platform in my bag. Plan to go to Kentucky next year so I think the saddle will be way better. Especially if I need to pack out a deer.

I was looking at the tethered complete sets. I’ll take a look at the latitude stuff. I’m just not familiar with most of the companies.

Get some tethrd one sticks, or borrow somebody’s to try if you can. They’ll make you throw the hawks away lol
Tethrd came out with a carbon fiber platform this year. My buddy has one and he really likes it.
