Yeah, I'm still in my stand and I'm pretty cold. Wind has picked up. Gonna sit tight a little longer then grab a snack. Gonna be back on stand from noon til dark. Unless I kill something sooner.

I am doing something wrong. Practice i group arrows in 4" circles at 20&30 yrds. I even practice seated and same results. I just had 20 pigs on field and took a shot at one with biggest tits (100 lbs or so) and totally missed under her at 20 yrds. Wtf am i doing wrong?

Dropping your bow arm instead of bending at the waist or not maintaining your normal anchor points.

I stay seated in the stand to shoot and thus do not bend at the waist. That being said I'm not sure how this makes a difference. I did discover my issue this am and proved it with a second shot from the stand at the previous arrow.

Even seated you have to bend. It's about maintaining the proper archers T. Glad you got it worked out

I have heard this many times but I have yet to hear a plausible physics based answer as to why it effects how an arrow flys.

The arrow does not change in realtion to the bow, the nock point does not change. The arrow rest does not change. Gravity is a constant. The direction of force from the bow string is still perpendicular to the bow.

It really is no different from shooting a gun as far as I can see. as long as the barrel is lined up with the target when the firing pin hits, it does not matter how the gun is being held. For example when shooting a snake on the ground (sorry Alx) how many of you bend at the waist to maintain the proper practice shooting stance? Still hit the snake?

That being said, I did ask for help. So can anyone rebut my babble and give me a physics related reason that I have to keep my upper body perpendicular to my bow and release arm (bend when i shoot)?

we finally got a good cold snap up here, but the rain came with it. I sat out this morning because of the rain but I'll be on stand this evening.

Just a guess, but It changes the angle that you look through your peep. Try tilting your head up and down as you look through your peep and you'll notice your pin moves off your aim point.

A peep and pin aren't as precise as sights on a gun. It's akin to not looking down the barrel of a shotgun when you only have a front bead.
