Food plot planted over the weekend. Only plot with deer coming so far. One nice buck. Some young 2yo. Maybe a doe. Only plan to shoot a doe. Saving the nice buck for my son.

Hot. Sweating my arse off
Mathews phase 4. Iron will head
In my saddle in an oak tree on a slough bank. There’s a pretty worn trail through here that I found when I was walking out yesterday. It’ll be a miracle to not get winded though. Almost didn’t make it today, turned the alarm off and tried to go back to sleep but kept thinking about a buck walking this trail while I’m laying in bed lol

ETA: as soon as I got out the shower this morning I had to go straight to the toilet. Meant to grab some napkins when I stopped for breakfast but forgot. My stomach just started bubbling again. Holding on for dear life up here in this saddle

Mosquitoes are at bay. Using ThermaCELL with my own concoction on the pad and This on my clothes.

St. Tammany
Warm
Lock on

Had a solid doe in here that I tried to wait out. I pushed her coming in but she didn’t blow and I don’t think she really got a look at me.

Picked up some of the Sawyer permethrin spray at TSC last night and treated my leafy suit. Was discouraged in the walk in because I was getting smoked, but it seems to be keeping them at bay up here. Any decent doe or buck is getting an arrow. Need to get something in the freezer early this year.

Watched the tiniest doe eat acorns near my chicken coop. She has two fawns and she might be 70 lbs herself. Sheesh

Got ankle socks on today lol
That reminds me of Missouri a couple years ago. I was walking in and had to cross a deep bottom, got down to the bottom and it hit me. I had on a fresh pair of Kuiu socks that had to get sacrificed. A cold front moved in that evening, had cold feet but clean pants

I'm back at it again. Hot as balls. Sweating buckshots. But no bugs. Or deer for that matter.
