Same here. Our rifle season ended last weekend and I had a decent year with 2 8 pernts. Kind of glad, because I spent a lot of hours trying to get a big one and I'm tired of fighting it.
Will squirrel dog or duck hunt Saturday.

I really enjoy the daily OB IST posts. Good luck all!

Yes. Going to try my land in NW St. Helena near MS state line. Haven’t hunted there in over a month. Been hunting our place in Tensas. Back to Tensas Saturday through the end of Muzzleloader (01/31).

Should be a good place to go if no human interaction for a month.

How far is it between St. Helena and Tensas?

Tensas is 110 miles NW from my place in St. Helena. I bought that St. Helena property because it’s much closer to my home, work. It takes over 2 hours to get to our place in Tensas but only 36 minutes to St. Helena.

There’s no comparison when it comes to the amount and size of the deer. Tensas is a thousand times better but I can’t make quick hunts there. Place in St. Helena has a good deer a population and a few decent bucks. I’ve seen deer every hunt I’ve made a hunt there this year.

I’ll set it up nice for next year. I just bought the place in October and threw a few stands up. Didn’t get to scout much. It’s on the Amite River and has rolling hills. Pretty piece of property.

That’s not too too bad.

My dad’s family has some land on the Warrior River about 45min south of Tuscaloosa in Hale County. It’s been in the family for close to 200 years or more.

On my mom’s side, my grandmother has a place on Pea River down close to Enterprise and Ozark in the Wiregrass area.

My wife and I still want to purchase our own land tract.

Probably up to 50-60 total. Way, way too many folks. We have like 3200 acres.

What about where you are?
