Holy shite I just saw Femke split a 47.93 in the mixed 4x400m. I don't know what we could've done to stop the Netherlands with that
Her best in the 400 M Hurdles is 50.95. She ran in awesome race.

Femke won from here around the last turn

That was the turn to the backstretch, not the final turn.

We’ve literally medaled in every event but the Dec so far but some are pissed because of the mixed 4x400 getting Femke’d and Richardson having a disappointing race.
I always pull for the USA. With that said, Julian Alfred’s Gold Medal in the 100 M and Leo Neugebauer’s Silver Medal in the Decathlon go nice with the NCAA Championships they won at Texas.

Ryan Crouser’s 3rd Gold Medal in the Shot Put made for a very nice day.

Little update from this morning: Freddie Crittenden had a tweak in his adductor but says it's not an injury according to team USA medical staff. Instead of pulling out, he jogged over the hurdles and will rehab his muscle to try and advance out of the repechage rounds. Pretty smart racing honestly

They just showed a US guy getting dressed in the call room and he was wearing loose arse boxers under his speed suit. Now what the hell kind of nonsense

Gardiner is a scratch for the 400m. We'll have a new Olympic champipn this year.

44.2s for Quincy Hall WITH EASE.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw another WR in the 400. These dudes are flying.

Yeah, running low 44’s and jogging across the line, these guys will light it up in the finals.

I only watch track every four years. Can you explain lane assignments and if there is any advantage to them like I’m the dumbest person you’ve ever met?

For the 100 it doesn’t matter much outside of being able to see your completion better (being in the middle). For sprints where you have a curve and have to stay in your lane you want the middle with outside lanes being less preferred due to having to “race yourself” and taking more distance on the curves. Distance events it doesn’t really matter (I never cared anyway) just as long as I didn’t get boxed in.

Lane 5 is preferred. Turns are neither too long nor too short. You have runners behind you and in front of you to where you don't feel like you're being left behind, and also don't feel like you're being chased too hard. While you want the wider turns for a sprint, you still want to be able to have your competition in your vision. Lane 8/9 have the longest turns which are less strain on the body for sprints but you have no idea where your position is in the race until more than halfway through the race.

They also don't fill up all of the lanes because they need more heats, which Gives more runners the opportunity to run auto-qualifying times for the following heats.

I have to check myself because I realize that 43.03s is still absolutely insane to try and beat, even with this track and the spikes they're using.

For the sake of my sanity I hope Lyles (or one of the other Americans) win this 100 or else I may be getting banned today, if the post race response is like yesterday at least.
