NBC prime time viewing this year will feature a lot of action that has already occurred due to the time zone differential unfortunately. However should you be so inclined to watch Ice Dancing at 3am, you can find it and search for it here. it is more interactive than i recall, it seems to have full listings and the ability to search

Current medal count:

Before the freak out know China in the Winters games just like the Summer games is front-loaded and will finish 9-10 in medal count when the dust settles. The US should be somewhere between 2 and 4, likely 3 depending on how Canada and Germany fair as time goes on.

China’s rigged Olympics. Funny how competitive athletes from all over the world keep popping positive and missing events or being malnourished in isolation while China surges to the top of the medal count. This might be the Olympics that finally kills the corrupt IOC!

While I agree on the conditions based on the few reports the "surge" to the top of the medal count was expected based on the event timing just like the Summer Games. They are only one medal ahead of the pre-game projections currently and will finish somewhere around 8-10 in the final medal count.

Japan is going to blow up the Medal Count tonight when they win Gold, Silver, and Bronze in the Half-pipe.

Considering how poorly Shiffrin has done, this has been an otherwise strong start to the Olympics for the US.

US moving up. My heritage is Norwegian, Swedish, and American. My home folk killing it

If China didn’t steal our athlete, we would be on top. Our other race skier screwing up got us too

I think men’s snowboarding should help

Gold must weigh heavily. I think we should be ahead of a couple

There’s no reason we shouldn’t be placing in any freestyle skiing and snowboarding events big air and slope style

Sweden shouldn’t be ahead of us. A couple others are so close it’s a coin flip. Germany is close, but we will get them in snowboarding and skiing

There are two basic ways to report medal counts (outside of a weighted system which few outlets use) either golds with total count as the tie break or total count with golds as the tie break. The count I have been using which you also screenshotted is golds with total count as the tie break.

We had some discussion about it during the summer games with little consensus. I think weighted makes the most sense but then you have to come up with the weighting system. In general, I see total medals as the show of the most dominant country is a particular year. At this particular time we are 4th in overall count and 5th in golds which has changed since I posted the last count.

Problem is GU might medal a few more times. Hopefully S White can still do his thing. He’s getting old
