Watched him live (stream) in Phuket when he broke the C&J world record at 20. I'd honestly never heard of him before that. How he added 20kg to his total in 1 year is crazy.

What's his background, seems much more like a CC/golf name than a weightlifter.

He’s a 61kg lifter from Marietta, GA. Coached by his father. Ranked #2 behind Li Fabin (3-time world champ) from China. Although he set the WR in the C&J, he’s not close to Fabin in the snatch. I believe Morris hit 127 but failed 130 in Phuket. Fabin holds the WR at 146.

Fabins numbers are nuts for someone who only weighs 134 pounds.

Great performance by Hampton. Watched it this afternoon and don’t remember, but didn’t he come close to a silver?

I love watching weightlifting in the Olympics.
