I will grant you.that the media did her no favors. But she had the Twisties from the get and it was obvious and she means right to drop out as to not put herself or her team at risk

An ailment that can neither be tested for or proven. And as has been stated previously, she did not initially blame the yips. That was only put out into the ether after the backlash against her decision began.

Did you see the vault she struggled with? I think you did, so you could clearly see she was lost in the air.
It’s not like she just quit out of the blue with no evidence she was struggling with anything.

I just watched it frame by frame on YouTube and the only thing I could tell is that she didn't stick the landing how she wanted to. I see nothing in her eyes (which aren't even that visible to begin with) that tells me definitively one way or the other that she doesn't know where she is.
Sure...you could say she had the Twisties, but you could also say that she just had a bad vault. The only thing I'm saying is that she did not say anything about the Twisties initially, then blamed them after that initial wave of criticism.

Some people are so stupid. Saw this post and had to comment. The fact it has over 70 upvotes is even more stupid.
Mental health is serious. It's a topic that should be taken seriously. It's led to suicide, mass shootings, etc. She didnt participate because she was struggling mentally. That takes courage, and you know she may look back with regret but at the time it was correct.
That olympics was 4 years ago, he husband made that comment last football season. STFU.

She completely missed a part of the trick that was called out immediately by the announcer. The Netflix doc also shows the days leading up and how much she was struggling to land on her feet on what are pretty basic things for her.
Again, basically every gymnastics person came to her defense, and I’m going to trust them over me as someone who only really follows Worlds and the Olympics (Nationals are fun during Olympic years as well).

Maybe she did maybe she didn’t. It wasn’t serious enough to bring up until she caught backlash though. You’d figure if this was such a huge deal it would have been announced and talked about while it was happening immediately, but as someone pointed out, she didn’t talk about it till much later.
And if she did, some of the causes are stress and performance anxiety. Which leads us back to the ultimate cause of her just mentally not being able to handle the big stage and being upset about some BS with her boyfriend.

It was serious enough to have to step away from competition for a period.
She just completed a Team Gold and an All-Around Gold with a noticeably injured calf muscle/achilles issue that she competed through. Why are you so dense to think it wasn’t serious if she has shown multiple times that she could fight through it if it was “just” an injury?
The reality is y’all are seven kinds of asshurt that she came back and is still the greatest female gymnast of all time.
ETA: Why are you mentioning the boyfriend comment? They weren’t even a thing when she was in Tokyo?
