The wife walked on the beach this morning, Romar Beach area, and found tar balls on the beach.

At what point does the presence of oil make swimming in the gulf not enjoyable?

There are people still out in the water. I don't think is enough to be hazardous, but would likely ruin some clothes/swimsuits. Each wave this morning was carrying several dime to maybe half dollar size tar balls.

I am staying at the phoenix 10 by florabama. Swam all day today until the rain came, no oil or tar balls here
