Main stream media brings it up about once an hour but hasn't shown a thing......
It's like watching ESPN trying to get info on LSU......

I'm not the most political savvy person in the world but I know that this moratorium is going to kill so many cities in south Louisiana.

LOL :)
I had to leave my office but WWL just interviewed Dr. Welch with Stone on. He said they expect to have a platform rig drilling in about 1 month. He also talked about how worried independents are about the increase in environmental liability in the GOM (basically shutting them down), which a lot of my customers have been very worried about. He thinks that since the BP well is now under control, policy makers can react in a less hasty manner and think through their decisions better. Let's hope so.

If anyone comes across the Jindal speech, I'd appreciate it greatly if you could pass it along.

not sure.. kind of just catching it here and there while I'm working. Could have been the president of shell.

The hippy chick's speech was pretty good, but she seemed at times to bounce back and forth between "environmental disaster" and "My family would like to continue eating".

The Gov should have been the final speaker, he really knocked it out of the freaking park.

Anyone get actual numbers yet.
Number of protesters?
Number of riot police?
Number of ambulances?
Number of tree huggers?
Number of tree huggers in ambulances?
One last thing, are they tailgating outside the rally?
God I love Louisiana!!!!

I had heard there were 20k at the dome (only 12k can get inside though).
If there were more than a dozen or two protesters, I'm betting they were bussed in.

In other news - The Baton Rouge Advocate Blows!!!
quote:
LAYFAYETTE, La. (AP) -- The crowd, many wearing T-shirts with slogans like "Drill Baby Drill," and "No Moratorium," began streaming into the Lafayette Cajundome as soon as the doors opened, eager to show their support for ending the federal offshore drilling moratorium.
Tuesday's gathering, billed as the "Rally for Economic Survival," was set in the heart of Louisiana's oil patch.
Thousands stood in silence as the names of the victims of the Deepwater Horizon explosion appeared on the stadium's big screens. But they were rarely silent after that - cheering every statement against the moratorium.
Lt. Gov. Scott Angelle set the tone early by saying people in Louisiana weren't going down without a fight.
That's the whole article!
