3rd screen on CNN site shows what looks like a crane handing something off to an ROV. Wonder what that is?

CO, what is the plan if this works...knowing it could "unwork" at a moments notice.
Lets say it slows the flow way way down, but not completely...is that possible? Is there a plan to use other procedures if it works half way? Basically, if the flow is slowed, what will they hurry up and try to make sure if the mud fails, something else will be in place that couldn't be there when it was flowing full rate?
Like, hurry up and pinch the riser pipe while the flow is severely slowed in case it starts flowing strong again later

I don't understand why CNN can get all those fricking shots and we get to see just one if we want a larger shot.
BP fails us again by putting just one shot one their page.
They suck at EVERYTHING apparently

Is that live......it says 9:30
Posted on 5/26/10 at 4:57 pm to tiger91
actually, it does look like the flow is diminished to my eyes
Posted on 5/26/10 at 4:57 pm to the LSUSaint
CNN is actually streaming their control room.
Posted on 5/26/10 at 4:58 pm to MoreOrLes
Well, it says live ... didn't notice the time on it ... so I guess I'm not sure.
Posted on 5/26/10 at 4:59 pm to MoreOrLes
Yeah, I know, but how does CNN get all the shots from down there and BP only puts one on their page. Shwo them fricking all so we can choose what we want to watch!

Yat, I thought maybe it was my eyes that were used to seeing that horrific top view ... fingers and toes are crossed, prayers being said.

Does this look any better than before????
I dunno, but its interesting. Looks like two entirely separate plumes. Is the dark one erl and the lighter one mud?
The feed I was looking at earlier just had the lighter brown stuff.

Reminder, I'm the messenger. I'm a lay person who happens to know someone in the industry. So unfortunately I can't answer your technical questions.
I just received an email with what appears to be good news, but I can't say anymore than that at the risk of exposing my source.
I hope all understand.

i THINK those times on the ROV's display the time elapsed on their current dives
Posted on 5/26/10 at 5:00 pm to the LSUSaint
CNN has a camera fixed in a control room with a bunch of different ROV screens.
I am happy for what we do have.
