Are you suggesting that had the number been higher, the well should not have been drilled?

This morning on the "round table news" multiple stations are now saying the stop is now estimated to be 2 to 4 years, not August of December.

Jesus fricking Christ, things like that is why I hate the news.

That time frame is how long it would take for the reservoir to basically empty so that the flow stops on its own and it is literally nothing to cap the basically benign hole in the ground.

NOT the expected time to cap it. Last I heard they were almost at depth for the relief well.

And here is another reason I hate the news:

Headline shown on links to article and distributed and the only information given if you don't click it: Document shows BP estimates spill up to 100,000 bpd

Sub title immediately below: Document estimate 'irrelevant' to current situation

Its stupid. Its suggesting that if BP could make the spill worse by removing the BOP... how is that even a possibility? Picture perfect example of media being irresponsible to sell news. And they are all doing it, CNN, FOX etc. Without a doubt the media and its incompetence is the major reason the US has issues. Journalism majors are the dumbest motherfrickers in the world.

Your opinion. I think people who call others the dumbest motherfrickers in the world are the dumbest motherfrickers in the world.

Great. Now I'm a dumb motherfricker by proxy.

How clever. Alter the quote with zero basis and pretend that it is deep.

The estimate is an absolute worst case if they would actively decide to make the problem as bad as possible just for the hell of it. It is NOT a projected upper range of the current flow which was intensified as part of the process of putting the cap on.

I don't even need to alter this one.

I will just agree with you. In retrospect, I just think they severely underestimated their ability to make the problem as bad as possible just for the hell of it.

Again, you probably think you are being clever.
