Yeah but your argument that 690 is doing a good job is because Eric Asher is pushing for oil royalties. That is hilarious. Didnt they just go on the air less than a year ago??? How long has La been fighting for our fair share??

690 is made up of a bunch of WWL870 rejects. That being said they both suck

fighting? not too long.

bitching about it while still electing the same crooked politicians, while also liking the paychecks from oil related jobs too much to really rock the boat? a long time.

When I accidently put the radio on that station while he is on, I almost run off the road. Dude drives me nuts with his voice and repeating of the same stuff.

Well maybe if they would stop being fear pimps about the whole thing, the media would be allowed in.

Here's what would happen, and if you disagree, you are just in denial.

Reporter goes in, finds the dirtiest 100 feet on the beach, shoots film acting disturbed and quoting the most catastrophic predictions available, film is cut to a cute animal covered in oil, they go to commercial.

I can't blame them, they are in business to make money too, but the authorities don't need to spend their time debunking sensationalist media coverage. They need to spend it fixing the problem.

The media is going to spin things anyway. That's what they do to make money. Anyone who doesn't understand this needs their head checked. But by having no footage from the affected area in question, it allows BP to lie, cheat, and misrepresent the facts as much as they can get away with and hope that the public gets distracted by some celebrity screwing a camel on heroine or some other stupid crap.

I'm sick of this Baghdad Bob bullshite misinformation. The only difference is that this time you don't see the tanks rolling up in the background... BP won't let the cameras there to film it.

Strong comeback. I love posters that have no intelligent thought, but would just like to flame, they affirm my notion that I am right.

The media can do it, or BP can do it. half dozen of one, 6 of the other. The only difference is, tree hugging assholes are less likely to blow up a BP office building because of underestimated numbers.

I don't like it, but it's the nature of the beast.

I agree. However, I want government agencies releasing the information, not Dan Rather.

Realistically, why is this a necessity? So that people can get more outraged about it? Maybe if Americans weren't so eaten up with the need to hate, there wouldn't even be a demand for this tape. I know I don't want to watch a dolphin dying on the beach and I'm not sure why anyone would.

You need to move to China. Your ideals would fit in perfectly there. Fortunately for the rest of us we live in America.

Does China have high journalistic integrity? Because that's all I'm really getting at.

Once again, thanks for the attack without any logical argument.

Would you like to share why you desire to see a dolphin dying in a puddle of crude oil?

I'm all for freedom of the press, but some journalistic integrity has got to be held in order for them to be trusted. I believe they are in violation of the law against "inciting a riot" when they do such things, but I'm no supreme court justice.

read this thread. I, and others, have stated why now is not the time to censor.

You said "However, I want government agencies releasing the information, not Dan Rather."

Logic tells me by your statements and stance in this thread that you want to censor the media and have the government give the people all of the information without independent reporting.

I'm not attacking you I am using logic to determine that you would be a better fit living in China considering how you feel is how their information is generally disseminated.

Yes, and I see your point as being, "so what if the information is right or not, we need to seize this opportunity to get Americans pissed off so that we can restore the gulf coast". I'm sure that's not how you see it, but it seems that your posts have little to do with actually helping to solve this problem and more to do with justifying the means by the end.

You want the gulf coast to be restored (I presume at the expense of the oil companies), and you think this is a perfect time to leverage a disaster in order to get what you want.

Sorry for not being on your train of strategic lies and deception.

Calling what the media does "reporting" is a stretch.

I would probably be okay with CNN going in there. I would be fine with anyone going in there, as long as they weren't going to be divisive in their report.

The majority of the press is not free.

Isn't it ironic that you would accuse somebody else of lies and deception when you yourself support the acts of lies and deception by censoring the media and squashing freedom of speech in America?
