Gives a press conference and says "We care about the small people".

What a prick.

Wait. Stop it. Reverse it.

He wants to kill you.

Oh, wait...he is! (enjoy eating some fish and shrimp contaminated with oil. Bottoms up!)

Who cares if he said small people. Words at this point are meaningless

agree. i think that's waaay overblown.

the hayward statement was waaay insensitive, admittedly. but let's be reasonable and admit how easy it would be for your words to not come out just right when your being grilled 24/7, especially when even within the same language there are large differences in phrase and word usage among differing countries/continents/cultures. these figures that stand before us are human.

because of their salaries, i can refrain from being too sympathetic towards them for the flack they're taking - it comes with the territory. I just don't think either meant the worst people are taking from the statements so i can't agree with taking issue of such small mis-speakings.

for the record, i have no affiliation with bp.

also people that are "offended" by his small people comment are just being ridiculous. big deal if he said small people. whoever is offended is just looking for another reason to bash BP.

at least they started a 20B fund.
