certainly not, but this is a whole different animal. This is equalivant to bringing firemen to put out a 5 alarm fire, taking a few pics then after the press leaves just turning off the water and going home.

my uncle is an SS agent and he said it was an under cover op.

well ask yourself, who has the ability to put hundreds of ppl so close to the President of the United States? I am pretty damn sure its not British Petroleum.
I don't know. The published article linked above with quotes from Jeff Parish politicians said it was BP. And the first guy that called in to WWL said they were on the beach while the president was flying over the island. So ???

I cant speak for anyone else but after yesterdays presser I felt like this was going to be La's problem. Now with this I feel like we are just a prop for the nation to see.
La is getting lined up for a good "F"ing long term. Hope I'm wrong

Hyperbole, much?
Any politician who engages in a photo op during an environmental event is going to be surrounded by firemen/policemen/soldiers/etc. hard at work during the photo op. Said hard at work firemen/policemen/soldiers will leave as soon as the photo op is over. I've witnessed it with my own eyes. Hell, I'm in PR, I've arranged these things myself.

I am afraid that your 100% dead on with that statement.
Louisiana as we have known it is gone forever.

I'm realizing that you are both probably right. Though I'm still trying to cling to my denial. Between Katrina and this, it's like the world's out to frick us.

Make no mistake this was an accident. However the lack of response and now a "Staging" of a response. The handwriting is on the wall.

So was he suggesting that the busload of cleanup workers was actually Secret Service Agents trying to blend in while protecting the Prez?

Dr. Ed Overton (LSU) said that there is no clean up

ORLY? Suttles just answered a question in the press conference and said it was BP workers and "we pulled them out because it was hot for them working in the sun".

In that case I guess all cleanup operations will be suspended until November.

No shite! When will folks call BS?

CNN reports that BP did it to impress Obama

apparently workers all wearing sparkling clean clothes and boots were bussed in to work cleaning the beach, and as soon as the President toured the area they were loaded back up and shipped out.
Smells fishy, sounds like that stunt they pulled at the White House during the health care "debate." White House staffers passing out lab coats to medical professionals.
