Today's sitrep:
Report from Mobile: 1000 CDT
• Skimming continued offshore recovering 3,000 barrels of oily water mix from offshore skimmers.
• NOAA: Persistent southwesterly winds over the last few days have resulted in northward movement of the slick towards the Mississippi-Alabama barrier islands a westward movement along the Florida Panhandle. Coastal regions between Dauphin Island and Freeport may continue to experience shoreline contacts. To the west of the Delta any remaining floating oil in this region could come ashore between Timbalier Bay and SW Pass.
• SCAT team continues to monitor the GRP areas in Hancock County.
• SCAT team continues to monitor the outer shorelines of Perdido Keys Florida for tar balls.
• SCAT team continues to monitor GRP areas of Dauphin Island for tar balls.
