Called a small company in the northeast to order headphones for my telephone. The girl taking the order said that they have a box on the order form that required her to get the Zip Code +4 digits. The mail was on my desk, so I found the numbers on a piece of junk mail. Does anyone else use this? This is the first time I have ever been asked for it.

There may be a space for it, but you aren't required to fill it in.

The machine that reads the mail typically determines it automatically.

I've never heard of that. They normally ask for my credit card number, and then charge me $1.99 a minute.
