STFU Chuckiee, his point was these guys are busting their arse while you sit around in the dark trying to figure out when you are going to get to watch the View again...

I know plenty of people who are both 1. Working 16+ hours a day for going on two months now AND 2. Lost everything and their wives and kids sat in the dark

It doesn't say, specifically, on the link.

In north AL, we are getting more wind from the front than Zeta brought us. Steady at 18-20 with a gust of 32.

I've got pecans everywhere now.

That sucks if true. I've seen Alabama Power linemen up in the bucket working on a transformer at 2 am one time after a tornado where 25k or more customers were without power. They usually do a wonderful job of restoring service. There is widespread outages here in AL right now and I'm pretty rural so I'm expecting to be without power for at least another 24-48 hrs at worst. But if it goes past 48 hrs, I'm gonna be highly irritated.

AL Power generally does a pretty decent job, yet I’m always the last to get power, and I’m far from rural. It’ll be easily 48 hrs for us. If we’re lucky

The rural power grids in my area have improved significantly over the past 20-25 years. It used to be a good gust of 40+ was going to knock out power to somebody. It is much more reliable than that now. They also have done a great job at restoration over the past several years. Those folks earned their pay back on April 27, 2011. They busted their asses around the clock.

Our unmanned cam that was placed in Biloxi behind the parking garage of Hard Rock, captured a remarkable storm surge event. I will be working to post visual evidence to show that it MAY have reached 10+ feet above MSL at this site. Thanks to @GregNordstrom @ligabozn for the help! LINK

I can't imagine the Entergy surcharge folks will see next year after all these hurricanes. People finally got rid of the Katrina surcharge. This one may be a hefty one.
