A buddy of mine is a captain on one of the boats that resupply the rigs out of fourchon and he txt me saying he was 85-90 kt sustained gusts to 130kt but he wasn't sure his wind reading was accurate. That was at 3:32cst

New Orleans is about to get completely clobbered by winds they haven't seen in decades. I'll be praying for the people who are about to be hammered by this hurricane.

Whoa, recon plane just recorded / calced 122 mph surface wind speed. This thing is likely going to be labeled as CAT 3 soon.

ETA: looks like they just flagged the reading as suspect

Thats accurate to the same reports from the boats in Fourchon that Im getting
