Youth flag football draft question.

Went to my first draft for youth flag football. Here is what happened.
Coaches have a stack of forms with players names and info to pick from. 4 teams 11 kids per team. One coach grabs the stack first, goes through it and pulls all the kids that he knows then gives the remaining to the other coaches for them to choose from. I found it a little unfair. Why does this guy gets picks 1-11 in the draft? It was my first year in this league and nobody else said anything but I thought it was a certified dick move.

It's youth flag football not the NFL draft. It was probably just so his son and his friends will be on the same team. Tell your son to stop hanging out with the nerds if you want a good team next year.

There's no way that's how it actually happened. If it is, (can't believe I'm even typing this) you need to let the league office/organizer know. I mean...coach1 is simply going to pull the 11 best kids and leave scraps for the rest. That's now how friggin 8 year old rec flag football works.

That coach and another had been doing it for a few years and I guess it was routine. Im not a head coach so I just watched.

Are you in the Houma/thib league? Happened quite often. In addition, we had problems with kids requesting a coach/team leading to a coach having too many, thus he would hand pick who he wanted and give scraps to the rest.
Just went and picked up 2/3 kids after draft to offset if nec
And remembered it's just kid's football.

Pretty sure my son's Flag Football team would destroy whatever you have in your league. They are legit stacked.
