You were quite the beer pong athlete.

If I make it to BR for a game this year we'll get you back into fighting shape.

I have never heard the government say "eat pizza, chicken wings, chips and coke" or any other unhealthy food suck as fast food, candy, and junk

I do a lot of business with Hispanics and it blows my mind what they eat

I go out to lunch with them and their families a lot and the shite they consume is unreal

Everything they eat is basically carb loaded. Tortillas and sweet breads and sugar loaded drinks.

The men aren't as big because they are mostly involved in day labor and move their body and burn it off. The women, however are at home with the 5 kids and aren't getting any smaller

Love my Hispanic friends but damn they have some unhealthy habits

I'm no fan of government dietary guidelines, but you think this Mexican family was feeding their child based on government recommendations? Haha.

People aren't obese because of the fricking food pyramid.

Using that news item as a microcosm of what's going on in this country seemingly on a wider scale than the rest of the world.

Think about where the average person comes into contact with the majority of his/her dietary information. Most likely secondary school (and college to a lesser degree). Secondarily, maybe fad diet books and tv news reports (more than likely using government information as a main source).

The majority of people are probably ill-informed about food, and what little information they do have come from problematic sources. There don't seem to be a shortage of those who'd prefer to lose weight and be healthier but who have access to a dietary plan they can realistically live with.

You've never heard the government refer to pizza as a "vegetable"?

Walk into the average school cafeteria and tell me that students are being served an ideally nutritional diet. All mandated explicitly and implicitly by government.

Type 2 Diabetes is not always about being overweight.

Good God. Them Mexicans sure like to eat.

A lot of Mexicans, particularly those that immigrate to the US, are Mestizos. Native Americans have trouble processing high fat European style diets. This leads to larger occurances of obesity in Hispanics.

That doesn't explain how so many end up in Hawaii though

Yeah it doesn't help that they put lard in every dish. There meals were loaded with calories by design because people were working all day and needed them; now not so much.

People are obese because a cheeseburger is cheaper than a salad.

I look at it every day, well 5 days a week. My son eats it. Granted it isnt perfectly healthy but it is balanced, has fruit, vegetable, salad. Kids can be picky, so there is that aspect as well. Portion size is good as well.

A slice of pizza wont make you fat, but 3 trips to the buffet will.

That's criminal. I hate fat people but I feel bad for the kid. Something tells me the parents are about 8 stones. They should be shot in the face.
