I'm 52. This was a one-night stand. I do remember who it was, someone I met on a camping trip. How I came to remember this is a long story. No my wife had no idea, this happened looong before I was married.
The mom's story was that the daughter was a product of rape. She shared details of the rape she was told by her mom, what the guy looked like, where it allegedly occurred. Before telling me all this (before she ever responded to me at all) the daughter showed her mom my pic from 23andme and she confirmed I was not the dude. Maybe she did get raped around the same time, who knows, but it wasn't me. (I know how much mileage this rape deal will get.. but I am not the rapist!! /Maury Povich )

Thanks man, it's been hard wondering this. She's pretty guarded but will open up every so often. And I'll go 2 or 3 un-answered text messages for weeks before she finally responds. She says she want's to meet, but then never can because of work. It's been hard but yes the counselor said basically the same thing as you. I got a wonderful surprise; she got her life turned upside-down.

I have nothing to offer you about your current situation as the genie has already left the bottle. But my suggestion for people considering doing what you did is this. Think long and hard if you are willing to face the possible ramifications of it. I mean think bad. Serial killer, murderer, your parents aren't yours, you have a long lost kid, etc. If your answer is yes, I could handle any of that, then go for it. If the answer is no, and it scares the shite out you, then don't do it.

I really don't know the best way to go about that, I'm sure I'd just be shocked. Since she's a 30 year old adult, probably doesn't matter either way

No, we hooked up at a camping area where her & her family were camping nearby. Me & the dudes I was with were drinking all day and we wound up drinking more that night with her & her folks. The next day was Sunday and they were packed up & gone before we woke up. That's the guilt I try to accept. I got her pregnant and she had no idea how to get ahold of me. Probably didn't even remember my last name.
