I consider gun owners too intelligent to purchase shite from Yeti.
Now, the NASCAR types - they should be Yeti's primary demo.

But you'd have to have your head completely in the sand to not notice a large portion of the lesbian community drives them.

Oh my, absolutely no overlap in the Venn there.

Far less than you would think.

Exactly, just keep your mouth shut on politics.
Agree, but they kind of got involved with politics by supporting the NRA in the first place. Now a lot of people are mad at them for cutting ties, but not mad at the hundreds of brands that have never supported the NRA.
Smart companies stick with causes like St. Jude that only a colossal douchebag would find offensive.

I didn’t know Yeti was based in Austin. This all makes sense now.

Do you think a Texas based company will have an increase in sales now that they cut ties with the NRA? Enough to offset the people that for some reason care and will no longer buy their product?

Well I'd say they got involved in the NRA as a marketing move for their likely customers. That's smart business.
Withdrawing from supporting them seems to be purely political virtue signaling. It wouldn't seem to help their business considering their customer base. They're making a political statement to their own detriment.

Best guess, Yeti pulled in some young talent from some Ivy League school to start staffing some of their business positions. Since schools are largely Social Justice oriented these kids never learned step one:
“Know who your fricking customer is”
“Know who your fricking customer is”

But are they? I know it appears that way on the surface but I have seen nothing official from the company. Given they put off their IPO I would not be surprised that this was merely corporate belt-tightening as a result of increased pressure from the copycats which from the outside appears to be an existential crisis for them. It is a cult brand but their base is not exactly the type to buy Veblen goods.

Here’s the problem with Yeti’s move.
The people that will applaud the move are either a poor, and don’t even buy their own beer, much less an expensive ice chest to keep it cold. Or, so rich and uppity and they’re used to one of the aforementioned poors bring it to them. They’d never stoop to sloshing their unchecked knuckles into an ice chest to grab a beer.
As such, in one Cottonesque move, they’ve managed to piss off the only bunch of folks that actually buys their product while simultaneously not adding many new customers.

Could be due to declining sales and the ever growing competition in the thermomolded cooler market. NC from The OB proved that there would be low barriers of entry to entities with existing access to Chinese factories.
Since high end coolers are now becoming priced as a commodity, Yeti may be trying to open up new markets with overly groomed-bearded hipster males, Subaru loving women and all other SJW types.

Nailed it. I worked for them. The majority of employees are hipster types, but with some good ol baws mixed in. Was kind of surprising considering their product and customer base. Once the new owners took the reigns, they went corporate pretty hard and fast, so this isn’t that surprising after watching that. Problem is, I don’t think they realize just how many nra types buy their product rather than the sjws of the world. They have a false sense of security I think being in Austin and surrounded by fellow sjws. Like my mom always said, you gotta be tough to be dumb.

When REI cuts ties with Vista Outdoors due to their ownership of several gun manufacturers, I posted on REI's Facebook that I was done with them. A friend from high school that works for REI as a manager in Houston unfriended me for it. I guess friends having different opinions about his employer upset his fragile self.
