I have never not had signal, so I never needed to download prior to going out for work. Plus I actually like to listen to some talk radio and learn about current events.

It's doesn't cost them any more money to have more subscribers so you can usually squeeze some good deals out of them.

Pro tip. Tell them to mail you a paper bill, pay with check. Never give them your credit card. They will enable the service immediately, take your time mailing the check.
