Industry is tough right now. Not sure how you feel about it, but maybe go work over seas for a year or two. You never know about a transfer back to the states. Good luck, hope it works out for you

If your heart is in reservoir, a masters in petroluem might be more useful than if you wanted to go into operations. Other option is to apply with every wireline company in the US to work as a field hand or try to get on as an MWD/LWD hand so you are looking at logs and getting an understanding as to how those tools work. I hire guys with field experience 10/10 times over guys who have an extra degree though. Working for a service company sucks and I luckily never had to do it, but those guys coming out of the field into the office for an operator always do a good job.
