I think the Universal/WWE titles get split (probably via MITB cash-in...Orton?). Tag titles may split when these two break up again (each taking a set) and they each pick a partner to become RAW/SD Champions with.
That’s terrible from a narrative standpoint.
What they should do if anything is combine the tag belt. A huge reason the bloodline works is holding gold. Brand splits are stupid, I don’t care what the networks say.

When it comes to development of top talent...
Rhea vs Britt
Theory vs MJF
Just look at AEW creative going out to get women from WWE developmental to drive a rehash of 90s storylines. Besides MJF who have they produced? The Acclaimed scissoring (with a massive assist from a WWE HOFer)? Sammy's talent would have had him in the NXT NA title match today.
A bunch of cast-offs, people WWE wouldn't medically clear (for their own safety), and people who are an embarrassment to have at a level above enhancement talent (looking directly at Willow). For Christsakes MJF was used as a fake security guard and Britt is known to WWE fans as the first girl Nia squashed when she was brought to the main roster.

MJF is on a much much much higher level than Austin Theory. That’s why Cody put him over.
As far as the women, Hayter is killing it.

Wardlow is a far better wrestler than Omos.
And as far as “cast offs” that in general is a false narrative. 99% of pro wrestlers in major companies jump around. Drew wasn’t good until Impact. AJ was a WCW guy. Jericho is a Harr Dungeon guy. Eli Drake/LA Knight was all over the indies.
Hell the guy everyone in these fricking threads called “everyone’s favorite midcarder” was a bigger star after he left and is now headlining Wrestlemaina.
And mentioning Nia…talk about fricking dangerous.

Gold?!?!?…maybe brass.
You’re 100% right on MJF.
On Hayter….she couldn’t come close to pulling off the performance that Charlotte or Rhea put in tonight….but no woman in AEW could so it’s not a huge slight on her I don’t guess.
I think what he is trying to say on castoffs is that everything good AEW has done has been done by someone that was already a superstar coming in.

Charlotte Flair had a worst TV match of the year candidate the other week. And I’m a Charlotte fan.
This is always the case though ... If they are Fed then they “the best” by default. It’s nonsense. There are a bunch of bad wrestlers in WWE (and yes I count their Tuesday night programming as you should too)
Rhea is a stud. Her real life man is a fantastic wrestler. Mickie James-Aldis is a great wrestler. Jade Cargill is being heavily protected but is going to be fantastic. Kamille the Brickhouse is very good. DeAnna, Jordynn Grace, Serena Deeb, Thuder Rosa, Toni Storm, Taya Valkyrie. Even one wrestler I think is overrated, Ms. Moné herself, is another who put in that spot can put on a great match. Even at Mania.

I took my stepson and we had awesome seats, was a great event all around. The screen at the top of the stadium kept going out at first, so if you were in the upper half of the stadium you couldn't see Jack. They finally straightened it out and got a huge ovation. Flair and Ripley was an exciting match and came just as close for fan reaction as that tag team match did. Can't wait to go back tomorrow evening, but we have to entertain the women folk in the morning first with a trip to Rodeo Dr. I'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow. Have a long flight leaving at 12:20am to Atlanta and finally back home to Mississip
Edit-after reading the thread, the first women's match with Lita and Trish was cringe, the jumbotrons not working didn't help the match at all. No one could see what was happening, so a lot of people went and got food, myself included. Flair is great in the ring, I thought she broke her neck on that one suplex. There were a lot of people cheering for Paul in my section and rightfully so, the guy out athletic af.

And as far as MJF/other wrestlers I am looking through the lens of where they'd be of they were part of the other organization. The whole Bloodline is WWE Developmental. Rollins came in to FCW after a stint in ROH which Cornette held a bit of influence. MJF couldn't hold either of their jocks. Even if you roll it back to where they were 4 years after first entering FCW/NXT they were already far better than MJF. The Theory comparison is a good comparison to MJF with their style and mic skills. Either one could slip into the other's "body" and do just as well.
Rhea is 99.9% NXT/WWE. Bianca and Charlotte are 100% NXT...the only 100% AEW name that comes to mind is Anna Jay with her top hat when they were filming at QT's gym.
Until recently nearly every wrestler started in Indies and then moved up. The difference is that they have gone through NXT in the WWE system whereas AEW brought them right in. Hell Darby was in a WWE sub-developmental company and couldn't get above that level. (His ex is barely holding on to her NXT position.)
I think there's plenty of good that comes from varied experiences but if you're going to come along and claim that AEW is any better than 1988 AWA/WCCW I've got to laugh in your face. Maybe given time AEW will have a legitimate developmental. The fact that they took a ratings win over Developmental as a big deal is a bit of an admission that their own product is inferior. But to each his own, I'm glad that part of the fanbase has something to watch so they don't have to spend their time bitching about everything WWE does.

So I'm going to give you my view...
quote:A solid pickup from across the pond that is better for Tony than the Saraya/Ruby/Athena signings. Not an AEW developmental person though.
Hayter
quote:An overlooked fitness freak learning the business on the wrong side of 35. (I believe her and Charlotte are roughly the same age.) Physically she's built like Charlotte but it's probably too late to catch up. Show me 1 bad Charlotte match and I'll show you 10 of Jade's.
Jade Cargill is being heavily protected
quote:Cut by WWE as a NXT trainer who like Mickie James is on the wrong side of 40.
Serena Deeb
quote:Basketcase who couldn't handle an established wrestling company's schedule.
Toni Storm
quote:Should eat a salad or 10 (maybe be an accountability buddy with Athena), couldn't get on NXT TV, and was cut. (I have met both her and Drake and they are both great people.)
Taya Valkyrie
quote:Botcha Banks...the one who ended Paige's career (again Tony doesn't seem to give a shite about her or Bryan's health) and will have a subsection on AEW Botches. That's if she doesn't end up religated to ROH and Rampage like every other bag of damaged goods Tony enjoys buying.
Ms. Moné herself, is another who put in that spot can put on a great match. Even at Mania.

Theory is even close to being in MJFs realm on the mic. He's the best in the business on the mic and a damned good wrestler too. Would love to see him in the WWE some day.

Come on man be reasonable…..I agree there are some bad women wrestlers in WWE, but to claim anyone in AEW, including Hayter, Cargill, Baker, Paige (although before her injury she was close), and whoever else you want to name, can come close to putting on a match like we saw from Flair and Rhea last night is just ridiculous. Saying anything different makes you sound like you don’t know shite about the wrasslin industry which I believe isn’t correct about you.
ETA There are more good women wrestlers in WWE than bad…..AND AEW signed several of the bad ones.

I think Storm could become a great wrestler and like I said earlier she could have had bangers all over the territory with Charlotte, Lynch, Bayley, Asuka, etc. I don’t think AEW provides much for her to develop though….also supposedly AEW is ramping up house shows soon. Is she going to not be required to go on the road or will she take her ball and go home again????….remains to be seen.

Toni Storm has no personality. She barely got time on NXT.
