I'd almost be willing to put some money on Trips making HBK commish of Smackdown and he is the one that makes the match for Smackdown.....I mean it was already done in this storyline before.

Even if they were faces, which they are not and Stephanie probably can’t ever be again, it still damages Becky’s character to just have her apologize like that and get nothing out of it

Well I assume if they were to horribly book HHH/Steph as faces the payoff is then putting Becky back in the match

Yeah, there's been Raws where she comes out to do the fluff stuff (and of course steal the spotlight from the women when she announces something new for the division) as face and literally is back in heel mode the next segment.
