On the Rousey thing....everyone knew there was gonna be some BS in this and that the match was gonna be a squash.
I wonder if they ever talked about Ronda getting hard way'd.....she looked legit pissed after the match.....Becky continues to make herself week after week.

That's the point...it comes out of nowhere. Sometimes it's nice for the to be a surprise or 2. When you have a company guy like Kofi, even a 48 hour reign is a nice gesture. I'm tired of the SD tag titles being passed around the same circle. That penultimate match was a perfect example of how to kill momentum. Sometimes making storyline sense is not the right thing... is obvious that Vince wanted to remind us of it when Cole brought up Braun's elbow.
Frankly I'm probably a few months away from going down to subscribing for only the months of the Big 4 on WWEN. They talked a big game but the product has still been horrible. I've already dropped watching their weekly shows down to 30 minutes via DVR. This reminds me of WWF circa 1994.

I mean I get your opinion.....but you are asking for something during WM season that just doesn't happen.
If Mustafa Ali didn't get hurt and this were him would you be making this same argument?

they definitely should have pulled the trigger on Kofi Kingston tonight. huge mistake. even if for a short title reign, the right move was to put the belt on him tonight.
Vince hires 500 writers (who he doesn't listen to) and gets a lot of heat for being "old and out of touch", well this didn't help his argument to prove otherwise.
it's getting to the point where WWE is so financially comfortable with their television contract money that they don't give a shite about creative booking.

The WWE is kind of what it is now. I only really watch PPVs and Simon Miller do ups and downs now. Samoe Joe being first out made me stop caring about the match anyways. Had the useless Orton and Hardy apperances that did nothing for me. Was blah overall.

it does happen. it happened two years ago when Bray Wyatt won the belt at this same PPV and then dropped it at WrestleMania.
also, Mustafa Ali isn't Kofi Kingston. Kofi has been in the WWE for well over a decade and has won every title other than the main one.

I'm one of the biggest critics of WWE creative...it has sucked for 2 plus years and continues to do so.
However, I don't see how putting the title on Kofi tonight and having him lose it back to Bryan (probably with a schmoz) would help anything in this story.....sure it would have popped a crowd tonight but how does it help anybody in the long run.

Bray had a hot gimmick with a real story and wasn't positioned as pretty much all comedy.....not to mention Bray had build up to the chamber....he didn't get his spot a week out because of an injury

So....he was originally booked to go the 60+ min in the guantlet....he would have popped a crowd...I mean what does it matter?

WWE needs Wyatt and Enzo back - only two new talents who had anything close to the "it" factor over the past several years

I think she probably got pissed about getting her head split open. It would be interesting to see if Becky could handle a physical match (i.e. Brock/Taker and Brock/Orton).
So now we know how she gets off suspension/inserted back into the match. Looking back they did a good job being relatively patient and letting it build up organically. Hopefully they don't screw it up in the coming weeks.

it helps for many reasons. the surprise factor along with opening up a larger fan base who otherwise typically wouldn't be interested. (let's just be real about it, WWE has only put the belt on like 2 or 3 black wrestlers in 40 years).
Kofi has the credentials and had the crowd in the palms of his hands. the surprise factor is what made wrestling great in the mid to late 90's. put the belt on him tonight and let booking do what they're paid to do. whether it's a triple threat at Wrestlemania or Kofi drops the belt beforehand, it would keep things interesting to television viewers.

hey Starchild... as FWL leader coming into tonight... you not putting in picks tonight...

Agree about Wyatt not Enzo. And now that we can connect the pieces of the puzzle, Cass needs to come back while Graves gets a pink slip & takes his ho with him.

Ok so now I see....if that's your angle why not Lashley or Big E?

He's a good worker but if not for New Day he would already have been further endeavored.

A less than optimal plan in my view mainly because of booking.

A triple threat at WM is a horrible idea.....but I could see creative doing it.

You are putting too much credit on Kofi without Big E, pancakes, and the trombone.

Yes, taken in a vacuum, bravo to them. It doesn’t erase the previous 3 hours of complete garbage. It was a great match and not a good PPV. Every once in awhile, itd be nice for WWE to just give the fans what they want instead of sticking to plan A no matter what.
You Guys that are so angry that the shows aren’t written for you make me laugh. You do realize the WWE isn’t written for 20 somethings or middle aged men, don’t you? It’s aimed at kids and teenagers who ask their parents to spend money on the product.
You guys stay on the internet blaming Vince for booking and how bad the shows are, yet here you are...week after week whining and complaining saying you’re gonna stop watching. Or you’re gonna be an AEW mark until they fizzle out like the rest of them do.
Here’s a piece of advice. Take wrestling for what it is: There’s no really deep, critical storylines that’s going to take your breathe away. The sooner you realize these stories aren’t written for the guy that’s pissed the Attitude Era is over and you take what’s going on in the business for what you see on the surface and not much deeper than that, you probably won’t be so bitter.

Do you really think kids give two shits about the environment crap? That heat is coming from us 20-40 somethings... you know the ones who grew up with Hogan's commandments and then the attitude era. We are also the ones paying for the network... again targeted towards us with all the vault and retro show footage. So yes, it would ve nice to throw us a bone once in awhile.
Putting the title on Kofi could have led to booking Fastlane in a way to setup New Day vs DB/Bray/Rowen at Mania. With the women main eventing and Brock vs Seth, the WWE title doesn't absolutely have to be defended there.

Also to echo others, these new deals have made them lazy with no motivation to put out a good product. They're the organizational version of the Megyn Kelly shitshow @ NBC.

Is Vince still in charge as far as creative goes? Or is it his children more so nowadays?
Ever since Vince went public, the business changed him..instead of the other way around. Going from about 500 million to 3.5 billion can make you see things in different ways.
If he had legit competition, it would be better for the business.
And apparently guys need to travel in cars and vans together, and smoke pot. According to some of the older guys.

You don’t need flaming tables covered in thumbtacks or puppies to keep viewers. You need good storytelling and a reason for what’s going on. What made the attitude era was the fact that the fans were invested in every match. There was a buildup, there was a story to where you did not want to miss next weeks Raw/SD or PPV. From the first match to the main event, the booking was solid.
Now it’s almost as bad as WCW Russo era. Matches are made with no story or buildup, heel/face turns for no apparent reason, storylines inexplicably dropped and forgotten about, and no reason to make WWE must-see TV like it was back in the day.
Now get off my lawn...
