bullshite, every women I know in Springhill has gain 20-30 pounds from this, and most all of these are super health nuts. My wife has been a size 2/4 her entire life, then in one month she gains 20 plus for no reason with no lifestyle change. That’s bullshite

You would probably lose 10 lbs right away.

trust me if anal beads were the answer to my weight problem - I’d still leave them in

Had to fix that - hard to type with a Twinkie in each hand

except we aren’t machines.

hormones will effect how we absorb food, whether we store calories in fat or not, how we retain water etc…

Mayo Clinic

The hormonal changes of menopause tend to make it more likely that women will gain weight around the abdomen, rather than the hips and thighs. But hormonal changes alone don't necessarily cause the weight gain. Instead, it's usually related to aging, as well as lifestyle and genetic factors.

For example, muscle mass typically goes down with age, while fat increases. Losing muscle mass slows the rate at which the body uses calories. That rate is called metabolism. This process can make it more difficult to stay at a healthy weight. If you continue to eat as you always have and don't do more physical activity, you're likely to gain weight.

Most people become less active as they age
. Paying attention to your activity and trying to move more may help keep you at a healthy weight

the wife has been going through that, no appreciable weight gain, even though she thinks otherwise, and no anal beads

I don't know that much about women's metabolism but logic would suggest the difference in BMR for a woman post menopause is directly related to their body no longer expending energy on their reproductive cycle. Men's reductions in metabolism are grossly overstated traditionally but there is no doubt women's bodies spend a decent amount of energy replacing blood and all the other expenditures related to their cycle.

well, not that anyone wants to know but - I’ll gain anywhere between 4-10 lbs during the month. Dr said it’s just hormonal. It’s aggravating

You said she ate a max of 1,200 calories per day. 20 pounds of fat is ~70,000 kCal so she would have to be eating about 2,300 kCal a day over her BMR so if she indeed gained 20 pounds in a month she is gorging on bonbons in the dark like Ginny Sacramoni.

ETA I should have noted this doesn't take into account water retention which women suffer from more often than men. That being said based on the 1,200 cal remark this isn't a large-framed woman so they would start to display symptoms of excess fluid even at 4-5 pounds. Shortness of breath, diarrhea, nausea, swelling in the lower extremities and feeling full all the time.

Your Dr sucks, my wife no pics, had same procedure, and gets quarterly scripts for estrogen patches.
