Wait, they built a new Rec with a lazy river.

I remember when they first built the Rec on Sorority roww, forever ago now.

All of these outside sources and media outlets who report about the specifics of the LSU economic struggles are usually way off base.

If the students could vote for free beer and weed on campus they would. Students are morons.

The money came from a special student fee assessment, approved in 2011 and earmarked specifically for the project.

“The funds for the project come directly from the student fee and can only be used for the project,”

That does not say the fees will go away once the project is complete. It says that student fees will be used to fund the project. No shite. Try again.

Better picture. Students voted to pay for it, what’s wrong with that.

How stupid are you? The funds could ONLY be used to build the river. The article says that directly

The fee is now gone.

No I'm not. If you send your unborn child to LSU in 18 years, you will still be paying for the new REC and the lazy river.

It says the project will be paid for with student fees. It does not say they wouldn't continue charging fees after the thing is built.

bullshite. You have provided no link saying this. And this is NOT how university fees work. You can trust me when I tell you that I know a lot more about this than you because I work in higher education.

There is and always has been a student rec fee.

The facility isn't free.

Seriously, how stupid are you?

The rest of the country sees LSU as a joke academically anyhow. There's little LSU can do in our lifetimes or our great-grandchildren's lifetimes to move the needle on that.

Great attitude to have!

Alabama used to be on the same plane as LSU and has similar demographics. Instead of being total idiots, they have used their football success as a lever to cultivate investment in the rest of the school. It's actually becoming a place that kids from out of state want to attend. Now LSU is going to be left in the dust. It's not about trying to become Harvard, it's about attracting better quality students while still serving in its mission as the flagship school of the state.

So the fees could only be used to build the project. The project is finished. The fees are now gone.

It's ok imbecile. You're wrong. Are you angry because you didn't go to college or because you dropped out?

There has to be some sort of ongoing fee just for maintenance. Where else is that money gonna come from?
