My younger sister and I went to pay our respect for our older sister and brother-in-law today. They are buried at the Veterans cemetary in Slidell. It's a beautiful sight to see wreaths at every headstone there.

I have a friend that participates in this every year. Really awesome gesture

I was born in Slidell, but got out. That could have been me!

Best thing I’ve ever seen out of Slidell.

Do you place wreaths at the headstones of every day citizens?

That does look nice. I assume whoever runs the cemetery puts them up?

Appreciation is here. But what makes the veteran more deserving than the doctor, the teacher, the social worker?
A good PR department is all.

We went there with the youth group from church this past Saturday to help put the wreaths on the headstones. There were a lot of people there to volunteer. It was a great experience.
