Would you drive 7 hours for $300?

It's 3.5 hour drive, one way, to purchase something $300 cheaper than I can get it locally.
I kinda don't want the hassle.
ETA-
Its a small boat , a very very specific one that I want. And have wanted for a while. I whiffed on a local one a few months ago, this one just popped up in another state. I could buy new for 599 plus tax. But even that place is 1 hour drive.

20 years ago, yes. Today, no.
Unless there was something really cool to do at the destination I had never done before.

Counting gas, wear and tear on your vehicle, and the value of your time, it's a wash at best.

Corolla or f250?
Also, what percentage of the purchase does $300 represent?

Okay, so $300/7 is $40 which isn't terrible.
BUT, That's 350 to 400 miles, which is a tank of gas, plus wear/tear on the vehicle. You're going to have to eat out (maybe you would have anyway, but stil), risk, etc.
Nah. frick all that. I would say rule of thumb is I would need to save about $75 for every hour on the road is my break even point. YMMV, as always.

If I had a free day, I wouldn’t mind at all.

It'll be closer to 200 with wear and tear plus gas.

For $300, no.
For a Klondike bar, yes.

Plus miles, plus gas.

It's about 38/hour factoring in gas.
