We pay a lot of money for property tax (~8%), to register our vehicles, and in sales tax here but what we get back as a result is worth it to me.

Yes. I'm in the process of building my case right now. As well as fighting with trying to lower my flood insurance which has tripled in the past 6 years. This fricking city

The taxes that are raised won't go toward actually cleaning up the city.
Or if it does, it'll go some contractor that'll do a half-assed job and some politician will get a kickback.
Furthermore, people that don't own property will vote for the tax.
People that don't own property shouldn't be allowed to vote on property tax issues.
