I am 45, I will sign up for some online classes right now, just to meet the ladies.

Growing up, the (made up) story line was hunky but naive college kid helping out moms around campus. cleaning pools. applying sunscreen. massaging sore back. ..... you know. typical odd jobs.

We were spoiled by our low-parental-guidance first born. Always planning, always diligently over achieving. He graduated with a 4.0 with little input from us.

Our youngest experienced more freedom than he could handle his first semester. He called me up before Thanksgiving and said his grades were going to be bad. If we hadn't intervened and gave direction, he would have brought home a 1.9

He would have lost his scholarships. He still had a month left in the semester. There was still time to turn things around. He had been going to class, but just got overwhelmed. We had to tell him to make office appt with his profs and ask for ways to pull his grades up. He ended up with a 2.5

I micro managed after that semester. He's been on the dean's list every semester since. He'll graduate with honors next May 3.6ish

That one semester is all that's holding him back from a superior gpa. He just needed someone to show him the path.
